In Bury St. Edmunds - the home of Abbot Ale - brewing can be traced back 1,000 years. In fact, the Domesday Book records “cerevisiari” or ‘ale brewers’ who served the Abbot in the town’s Great Abbey.
Inheriting their fascinating experience, our brewing process has hardly changed over hundreds of years. It takes seven days to craft the perfect pint of Abbot Ale. Brewed for longer, the ale has masses of fruit character, malty richness and a superb hop balance.

Quality
Probably the only Green King beer that is still worth drinking if you cannot get better.
Abbot Reserve
Buying stronger beers is always something of a gamble. The strength of Abbot Reserve leaves little of the smooth, malt taste of Abbot Ale, so it wasn’t an enjoyable drink.
Quality and flavour
Very enjoyable and tasty and at a decent price.
The alexia of life!
It is pure delight to drink a bottle of Abbot Reserve and savour the malt and caramel flavours of this wonderful ale. I haven't had the opportunity to sample a cask version of it for a number of years so buying it by the bottle is the next best thing. Many thanks GK for the experience.
