In Bury St. Edmunds - the home of Abbot Ale - brewing can be traced back 1,000 years. In fact, the Domesday Book records “cerevisiari” or ‘ale brewers’ who served the Abbot in the town’s Great Abbey.
Inheriting their fascinating experience, our brewing process has hardly changed over hundreds of years. It takes seven days to craft the perfect pint of Abbot Ale. Brewed for longer, the ale has masses of fruit character, malty richness and a superb hop balance.

Reliable ale
Caramel flavoured great strong ale. Definitely my favourite (for a while)
Abbotts Reserve
First time trying the Reserve , a richer deeper taste than the original and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Smooooth. Why does it have to be so many words ? Useless waste of effort
Beer par Excellence
This beer is exquisite and is by far the best beer I have ever tasted and belief me I have tasted quite a few. The brew is crystal clear with a delicious creamy head. Needs to be treated with respect and ***** slowly. I shall certainly buy more.
A superb beer
I saw his beer in my local Co-op. I was looking for an alternative to my previously favourite beer which has had the gravity reduced by 0.4%. That may seem minimum but it has had a devastating effect on it’s taste and bite. My first impressions of this beer was mouth watering. An absolutely lovely beer that I can enjoy drinking occasionally and in sensible volumes.
