Yardbird Pale Ale

Aroma:  Tropical fruits, floral, grapefruit citrus

Taste:  Tropical & Citrus fruits, spicy hop, crisp bitter linger

Malt:  Pale Malt, Carapils, Amber

Hops:  Simcoe, Citra, Centennial

Perfect with: Fish dishes with a creamy sauce will allow Yardbird to cleanse the palate and tingle your taste buds ready for the next yummy mouthful. Sweet and sour dishes pick up the fruitiness of the beer which would also work well with a tasty burger with fruity relish. 

Additional Notes:  Masses of hops are used in this fruity pale ale. Simcoe in the copper for robust bitterness and underlying resin hop. Citra and Centennial are added for Citrus and tropical fruit flavour and Simcoe is added twice more to give more citrus, pine resin and passion fruit. Even more Citra is added in the fermenter to increase the citrus and fruity fragrance. A good body and sweetness comes from the mix of three malts and this is balanced by a bold dry bitter linger.

The 4% abv pale ale was first introduced as a seasonal ale and takes inspiration from the freedom and energy of American jazz. The beer which has been crafted by Greene King’s brewer Ross O’Hara allows the hops to take centre stage and shine through. Using American hops Citra, Centennial and Simcoe, Yardbird has a zesty and tropical aroma, packs a real citrus punch to entice the taste buds and results in a clean bitter finish, leaving you wanting more.
