Ultimate Host: Darts Players Championships 2021

Get your crew over for the darts with our Ultimate Host guide!

Key Dates & How To Watch

Taking place this year on 26-28 November, the Darts Players Championships promises to be one for the history books. After Covid forced last year’s event to be rescheduled in Coventry, the tournament is ready to bounce back at its usual home venue of Butlin’s Minehead Resort.

ITV4 will kick the coverage off at 7pm on Friday for the first round.

The second round starts on Saturday 27 at 12:45pm, followed by the third round at 7pm to decide the finalists.

Sunday follows the same time schedule, with the quarters taking place in the afternoon before the semis and grand final are settled from 7pm

Player Picks - Ones to Watch

Fresh from last week’s Grand Slam victory, Gerwyn Price will be hoping to make it two titles in a row after defeating Peter ‘Snakebite’ Wright. With Price proving to be something of a “Marmite” character in darts, his bust-ups with the likes of Anderson and Gurney could provide tasty encounters should they meet again...

With an outside chance and ranked 7th for earnings in 2021 is last year’s winner, Michael van Gerwen who will hope his experience can steady his hand. He faces off with fellow Dutchman, Kevin Doets on Friday’s mainstage match at 7:30pm.

Set Up Your "Pub at Home" for the Darts

With the show being a sell-out, this year provides the perfect opportunity to host your very own darts night. Cheesy tunes, outlandish outfits and pub grub is the recipe for a night on the arrows.

If sofas aren’t your style, you could try fitting your friends onto your dining table for front row seats and a bierkeller-inspired set-up.

What to Serve - Food and Drink

It's a long weekend of darts action, so we recommend a mid-strength pale ale or golden ale. Serve in sturdy pint glasses and pair with traditional bar snacks for a true taste of the darts.

OUR PICK FOR DRINKS

Ice Breaker Pale Ale

Ice Breaker Pale Ale

or

Old Golden Hen

Old Golden Hen

If you plan on watching the whole weekend’s action, you can easily swap the lager out with low-alcohol or alcohol-free beverages - Low Alc Old Speckled Hen is a superb choice.

Order ahead of the tournament start and you’ll even score a Black Friday/Cyber Monday discount!

OUR PICK FOR FOOD

There's only one choice...

Pizza - best darts food

It has to be pizza. It’s the ultimate party-pleaser that pairs brilliantly with everything. Whack them in the oven, don’t miss a second of the action. Just remember to set a timer!

You're all set
Nothing left to do apart from a few vocal warm-ups - your neighbours will definitely want to know when somebody smashes a 180!
